In Romania, o tara ce se gaseste intr-o continua tranzitie, un loc in care se intalnesc contrastele, unde economia este dezechilibrata iar conditiile de trai sunt precare, puterea unui leu este subestimata. Insa diverse bunuri pot fi achizitionate cu aceasta umila suma. Seria de fotografii documenteaza un segment din economia autohtona actuala dar si ridicolul situatiei: daca ai macar 1 leu in buzunar poti cumpara de la carti la chilotzi. In pragul unei crize economice mondiale, am intentionat prin fotografie sa ilustrez optimismul inca prezent.

Fotografiile au fost realizate in orasele: Iasi, Cluj, Timisoara, Bucuresti in perioada 2007-2008.

In Romania, a country that finds itself in a perpetual transition, a place where contrasts meet, where the economy is unbalanced and the living conditions are sometimes precarious, the power of 1Leu/Ron is underestimated. But you can buy plenty of merchandise with this humble sum of money. The photographic series documents a segment of the autochthonous current economy and at the same time the ludicrous side of the situation: if you have at least 1 leu/ron in your pocket, you can buy many different things, ranging from books to underwear. In the breaking of a world-wide economical crisis, I intended to illustrate through my photos that optimism is still present.

The photos have been taken in the following cities: Iasi, Cluj, Timisoara, Bucuresti during 2007-2008.
