The Presentation
This installation comprises the interior of a storage room from and a private building, found in a state of under-construction, 3 unstretched paintings roughly duct-taped on walls that function as pieces of wallpaper and 3 paintings duct-taped on specific chosen areas of correspondent wallpaper. One of the paintings has a fragment of text painted on its surface: “to rhetorical principles,… Furious Flower:”
I am working on the observation that any concept has the tendency to occupy a virtual space larger than its physical manifestations. I am interested in presenting this space, by finding its limits an exploring its nature. I am assuming that virtual limits of a sign reside in the point of raw materialization of another sign and I follow this route, back and forward, between text, painting, drawing and action marks (visible in such details as the deterioration of the interior after many years of use and abandonment or as the texture the constructors made with hammers in order to prepare the wall to receive the new coatings).
