Urmărind orașele vizitate în decursul ultimilor 8 ani, „En Passant” își propune să cerceteze, să observe și să descrie raportul orașului cu utilizatorii lui. Metoda este simplă și evidentă: observarea trecătorilor, a clădirilor și a relațiilor ce apar între cele 2 părti. Pornind de la ipoteza că „micile detalii” sunt cele ce contribuie determinant la atmosfera generală a unui oraș, proiectul cartează cadre de oraș, expunând metodic siluete umane proiectate pe fragmente de fațade urbane.
Seriile de fotografii nu sunt rezultatul unei activități de urmărire, așteptare, ci sunt instantanee urbane, surprinse în locurile cele mai diverse: de la fațada unui imobil desenat de unul dintre cei mai importanți arhitecți contemporani până la cartierele bucureștene în stare de dezintegrare. Un singur lucru este important: relația om-arhitectură, o relație observată de la distanță, nepregatită sau aranjată. Un schimb natural de scară la nivel urban.
Abordarea este unitară: perpendicularitatea pe planul de proiecție este o condiție necesară definirii și evidențierii raportului oraș-utilizator, încadrării siluetei umane în suprafața parcursă.
Proiectul este gândit ca un proces deschis, de documentare continuă, un demers ce se va asocia viitoarelor mele descoperiri urbane.
„En Passant” was created following almost eight years of travelling as an observer of the city and its users. The method that used is simple and quite obvious: noticing the passerby, the buildings and all the connections that begin to form between the two. Starting with the idea that the atmosphere of a city depends largely on those „little details” that we never notice, the project maps city frames, methodically revealing silhouettes projected on urban facades.
This series of images are not prepared or thought of in advance, instead they appear naturally, as urban instant shots took in the most diverse places: from the facade of a building designed by one of the most important contemporary architects till Bucharest’s old neighborhoods, in a semi-state of disintegration. There is one important element: the relationship between man and architecture, observed from a certain distance, without staging or preparing anything. It’s a natural transition in urban scale.
The approach is constant: the perpendicular projection plane is essential in order to establish the connection between city and user, integrating the human silhouette and the space it transcends.
This project is designed as an open process of perpetual research, an approach related to my future urban discoveries.
